Hey everyone! Welcome back to another update. Today, I wanted to give an announcement to you all, and also share some art as well.
Firstly, Psyborg now has a trailer to help promote it! I commissioned some pieces buy an artist named Zain, so thanks to him for helping me out with this project! You can watch the trailer below. Feel free to share it with others who may be interested as well.
As I said before, I commissioned a few art pieces to use in this book trailer, and I’d like to share them here, explaining what they’re meant to represent.

This scene depicts Boyd, in his hometown of Atlanta, speaking into a megaphone about what he saw in his vision. Unfortunately, no one here ends up believing him. It doesn’t mean no one will though.

This scene depicts Joei showing off a pair of metal gloves to Boyd, who looks surprised at the sight of them. I wonder what these metal gloves can do…
I also had Zain create a more detailed version of the metal glove art that Samuelebs originally created for me, though even that was based on a sketch of mine that I had done of the glove, so let’s look at the metal glove in each of its artistic forms that it’s taken on so far.

It all started with this mockup teaser, which started as a drawing that I then digitized and then traced digitally to create this first version of the glove. It’s definitely rough, though it did make for a solid reference to bring to an artist who could do the glove better, that being Samuelebs.

It certainly looks a lot better now! This was actually the first piece of art I ever commissioned for the book, to help tease it before I had officially revealed it. I also used it as my profile picture for my socials up until recently. I still plan to find a use for this version of the metal glove art in the future though.

These aren’t in the same pose as the first two metal glove pieces, but I wanted to also mention this variant of the metal gloves that’s seen on the book cover, done by Duy Phan. So far, this is the only piece of art that shows Boyd wearing these gloves.

We now arrive at the latest version of the metal glove, done by Zain, which is an updated version of Samuelebs’ metal glove art as I mentioned before. This looks great, and I love the added detail of a collar with a point around the wrist of the glove. It’s not a detail I asked him to add, it was his choice. Although I do appreciate accuracy to a person’s vision for a piece of art they commission, I have to appreciate when an artist goes out of their way to add their own touch to the piece like this, it really goes a long way in making an art piece even better. Duy Phan also did this with my book cover, and it went a long way in shaping my vision and making it much better than I could have ever imagined.
That’s gonna do it for this update. I’m not really sure what will be the topic of my next update, so we’ll have to cross that bridge once we get there. I’ll see you all next time!
